Design points of front end and transmission end of network video monitoring system

Compared with the analog video monitoring system, the network video monitoring system has many advantages, but according to the author's experience, there are still some design points and difficulties in the front end and transmission end, mainly as follows:

   strengthen power protection



   the network video monitoring system relies on the network, and the power is obtained through the POE switch or from the weak current well and weak current room. Therefore, the power safety between the weak current well and the weak current is very important. In case of power failure, not only the network of the whole hospital will be paralyzed, but also the video monitoring system will be paralyzed, which requires that the power safety level of weak current well and weak current room should be improved, and UPS power supply and standby power supply lines should be added.



   front end IP camera configuration on demand



   there are many kinds of IP cameras, which are not very important places. It's OK to configure a 720p IP camera. After all, the bandwidth is limited. In the future, we need to improve the image quality, and it's convenient to replace a higher pixel IP camera. According to the author's experience, the camera using CMOS image sensor can completely replace the camera using CCD image sensor as long as it doesn't work under low illumination, with low price, low power consumption and small volume. Due to the increase of video compression and network transmission part in IP camera, its heat dissipation has higher requirements than that of analog camera.



   reasonable allocation of network segments



   large scale deployment of IP cameras has a network segment allocation problem for the IPv4 network. A network segment can accommodate up to 254 cameras, which exceeds the need to cross network segments and increases the complexity of network settings. This problem can be solved by NVR segmented management of IP cameras. For example, the Huangjiahu new campus under construction in Wuhan College of Zhongnan University of economics and law plans to install about 1000 new IP cameras, which will be divided into 10 regions according to regions for management. Each region is divided into a network segment, equipped with an NVR, and managed through the monitoring and management platform.



   flexible configuration of distributed and centralized storage



   the pressure of large-scale deployment of centralized storage of IP cameras on the network is also a problem. The network video monitoring system is a very flexible system. It is suggested that the distributed storage and centralized storage can be flexibly configured on demand, such as centralized storage for road monitoring and important entrances and exits, distributed storage for building monitoring, and planning tasks can be set to divide the network into two parts at night Important videos stored in cloth can be synchronized to centralized storage. However, the author believes that the use of virtual storage technology, the formation of cloud storage platform is the development direction of network monitoring system to solve the storage problem.
